đŋ Culture & Language
â
We are proud to offer programs that connect children to Indigenous culture.
· Daily Traditions: We incorporate language and cultural traditions into our daily routines through engaging Circle Time and hands-on activities.
· Cultural Programs: We offer specific language programs and cultural activities to ensure our children stay connected to their heritage.
𧸠Education & Play-Based Learning
We know that children learn best when they are actively engaged.
· Our Approach: Our curriculum is entirely play-based and hands-on, utilizing themes to make learning fun and relevant.
· Holistic Growth: While we don't list specific literacy/numeracy curriculums on our form, our focus is on building a strong foundation for lifelong learning through active play.
đ Health & Nutrition
We take nutrition and wellness very seriously at MCDC.
· Healthy Meals: Our menu follows the Canada Food Guide, with a strict "No Sugar" policy.
· Traditional Foods: We occasionally incorporate traditional Indigenous foods, including wild meat, into our meal planning.
· Comprehensive Wellness: We offer screenings, nutrition programs, and physical activities. We also promote wellness through hands-on learning, providing helpful resources, and making referrals when families need additional support.
đ¤ Family & Community Support
We operate with an open-door policy and love having families involved in our center.
· Family Involvement: We encourage parents and caregivers to volunteer and participate in their child's learning journey. We also offer family support programs and community events.
