North Battleford AHS

Welcome to Pe-Ta-Pan Preschool Centre Inc.

Located in Battleford, Saskatchewan, Pe-Ta-Pan Preschool Centre Inc. is a safe, nurturing place for children to grow, learn, and connect with their culture. We are incredibly proud to have been in operation for 31 years, and in our community, we are known as the preschool that offers three languages!

🌿 Culture, Language & Elder Teachings

We believe that knowing where you come from is the foundation for a strong future. We are fortunate to have several First Nations surrounding our center and regularly welcome Elders from different communities to share their knowledge and teachings with our children.

Three Languages: We teach the children Cree and Michif.
Daily Traditions: Our days are grounded in culture. We smudge daily and say a Cree prayer every day.
Weekly Learning: Children learn a new Cree and Michif word every week, including basic words, counting, and animals in both languages.
Community Events: We host an annual feast and take the children to cultural events within the community.

🧸 Education & Land-Based Learning

Our program is designed to give children a head start on their educational journey.

Kindergarten Readiness: Our curriculum focuses heavily on getting children ready for Kindergarten while ensuring they have fun and feel safe learning.
Land-Based Learning: We incorporate land-based learning into our programming, helping children connect with the natural world around them.
Sense of Belonging: Our ultimate goal is to help children grow and give them a strong sense of where they belong and where their roots come from.

🤝 Family & Community Support

We believe in supporting the whole family. We offer comprehensive support services, including parent engagement, family support, transportation, and community outreach.

Community Partnership: We are proud to be partnered with BECIP to further support our families and programming.
