Buffalo Narrows AHS
Welcome to Apisci Mostosis Aboriginal Head Start
(Apisci Mostosis Preschool)
â
Located in Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan, Apisci Mostosis Aboriginal Head Start is a vital early learning program that supports the holistic growth, cultural identity, and school readiness of Indigenous preschool children and their families.
We combine early childhood education with Indigenous culture, language, and family well-being. Our primary goal is to aide your child in discovering their uniqueness and coming to the knowledge that they are special. By providing a safe, consistent, and caring environment, we help parents and children have positive, empowering experiences with education.
đŋ Culture & Language
Cultural pride is at the heart of our preschool.
-
Planned Curriculum: Through a thoughtfully planned curriculum, we teach children about their rich Culture and Language.
-
Daily Reflection: Culture is woven into daily activities, special events, Elder visits, and the physical classroom environment.
-
School Readiness: We focus on teaching the essential readiness skills children need to confidently transition into Kindergarten.
đ Health & Nutrition
We believe in teaching the whole child, including healthy habits for life.
-
Healthy Lifestyles: We teach children about healthy lifestyles and nutritional choices, following the Canada Food Guide while incorporating traditional values.
đ¤ A Supportive Community for Families
We know that strong families build strong children, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
-
Parental Support: We empower parents through various projects within the preschool and keep families informed about the social supports available in the community.
-
Friendship Centre Partnership: Our sponsoring agency is The Friendship Centre, which offers many additional programs and hosts wonderful community events for families to enjoy.
-
Family Feedback: Parents have shared that our program offers a positive experience for their child, providing a caring and supportive environment where children feel safe, build friendships, and gain confidence. We are proud to be a place that is welcoming to the whole family.
